Nori's Anniversary!

Nori has been with us for 3 years as of tonight. This amazing little dog came to us as a foster heavily pregnant, starved, and so covered in fleas, her skin looked like it was crawling under her fur, after being severely abused and abandoned in a house with her mate. She was a skeleton with a fat pregnant belly. Her gums were so white I don't know how she was still alive. She was snarling and snapping and wanted to kill everyone. I pretty much decided then she had to stay. I didn't want her going to a new home a biting someone. Four days later, the second we arrived home from our errands, she ran up and greeted me and then immediately ran to Shada's bed and gave birth to the first of a litter of 6 amazing pups. They were all healthy and round like puppies should be. For the first couple days, she didn't leave their box. I had to deliver food and water to her in the box. Everyone thought she might need help because the litter was so big and she was in such poor shape, but she took care of every one of those pups by herself. All survived and grew into happy healthy loved puppies. She is the most devoted mother I've ever met. She's had alot of issues to work through these last 3 years. Alot of fear and aggression and alot learning to communicate with humans. She has come so far. She's not perfect, but you'll never meet a happier more devoted dog. Her tail only stops wagging when she sleeps and her face always has a happy doggy smile on it. It's been alot of work and headache, but I wouldn't trade a second of the last 3 years with this wonderful amazing dog.

She is just such a brave and amazing little lady. She is lucky to have you as her person and I have no doubt you feel  blessed to have her in your life.

Is the dog related to Sandy? Or are they simply just both cute little dogs? Gah! I want to come over and play with them. Someday, perhaps, I'll get to have a doggie (and a kitty).

Thanks all! And yes she is! She's Sandy's mommy. He's the youngest of that litter of 6. He has her face. Sometimes I'll ask him how he got so cute and then I'm like, oh yeah, you get it from your mommy!
