So peeved at Amazon and its pre-ordering!

I am just so unbelievably peeved at Amazon right now!

I pre-ordered an item (non-pony) in April with an ETA of June, then was informed that the item was delayed until July. But then found the item in stock and shipping to other buyers at it's correct release date while I was still left with an unknown shipping date and no further information. My original order was to be direct from Amazon, but the item now appeared to be shipping from a third-party seller... so I quickly did a check of whether they would even ship to my country (many sellers don't) by starting to order another one. I was relieved for a few seconds when it went through to the final stage, it was going to ship to Australia, but then I saw the shipping cost... OVER $100!!! When I pre-ordered the item it was sold direct from Amazon with an estimated shipping cost of $14, it didn't say anything about this other store and their ridiculous shipping costs!

Needless to say I was sick of receiving emails saying it was delayed or they didn't know when it would ship, and this change in shipping cost was the icing on the cake. Luckily Amazon allows you to cancel the order as long as it isn't 'ready to ship' and they don't charge until it's sent out. So I cancelled that order quick smart! I don't even know if they ever would have posted it but I wasn't going to be pleased with being charged $100 out of nowhere!

I'm also annoyed that I can't leave any feedback for how horrible the process was, my product review wasn't accepted because I didn't review the product... because I couldn't duh Amazon. (I've reviewed cancelled ebay orders, even left positive feedback lol)
I've learnt my lesson, I'm never pre-ordering from Amazon ever again if they're gonna be flaky like this and give me the runaround... I honestly thought Amazon would be a reliable place to pre-order from.

Sorry, I just needed to vent about Amazon and the fact that I can't vent AT Amazon about this!

That is quite lame. $100 to ship?! How big is this thing?

Perhaps someone else could order it and forward it to you?

It's crazy, I was struck speechless by the price! It's not the first time, if sellers are willing to post to Australia they only seem to do so by sending priority in some seemingly impenetrable steel box with gold plating, that's the only way I can fathom the price haha because I've never been willing to pay it! I always get almost to the end of the checkout then see the real postage price and backout, they taunt me with $5.95 shipping on the product page then spring $45.95 on me right before I confirm the order.

It was only a 6 inch figure. I bought a different version of it on eBay and am quite pleased with that instead so I don't much care to buy the other one anymore, I'm just baffled by Amazon.

I love when I find something that's a steal of a price only to be hit be insane shipping.

"Hey, this store is charging $15 for this figure, but everyone else is charging $74 plus $15 shipping! And it's from the same country!

$74 to ship? Really?"

Either they hope people won't watch shipping prices or they confused price inputs:p
