Get to see my favourite band!!! AH!

I GET TO SEE DANZIG!!! 

I'm so excited!!! I thought they weren't going to be coming anywhere close enough for me to be able to go see them But last night I saw that they had posted new tour dates AND THEY'RE GOING TO BE IN PORTLAND IN AUGUST!!! AH!!!! I've never been more excited! My older cousin is going with me, and we're gonna have a blast. I bought our tickets just now! AHHH!!! I hope I get to meet him!!!

Is anyone else going to any cool concerts this summer? Any advice for me, as this will be my FIRST concert ever? What does one wear to a concert? o_o Ah I'm freaking out!

Wear something you won't overheat in.
Oh! And stay AWAY from the mosh pit!!

Good for you  (I have no idea who is Danzig) my very first concert was Green Day (ooh, how I love them  ), and it just depends on what kinda crowd this band attracts. If its rowdy, crazy people that'll start mosh pits then you should stay far away as possible O_o, if its calm, cool people then you basically have nothing to worry about I hope I gave you somewhat good advice <:s

I don't know how US crowds get at concerts. I always tend to go and be in the first row and that did get me bruised ribs in a few heavier concerts But try to go to the venue early enough so you can find yourself a nice spot. I find that first row but off to the side is usually the best as you get to see everything but don't get the full impact of a crazy crowd.

And yes, dress as light as possible, it gets HOT in those places. Bring water if you're allowed. And most importantly - HAVE FUN!

... nothing wrong with a mosh pit if you know how to act and avoid the stupid people ... i've ended up on stages a few times and got to chill with bands after shows because of it lol just like with everything else it's just a few bad apples that spoil the bunch sadly

and really depends on the venue ... outdoor, dress for the weather. indoor, dress for heat, wear something you won't regret if it gets ruined, danzig can get some crazy freakin crowds ... i'm more used to the metal/deathmetal bands in smaller holes-in-the-wall type places and it gets insane, soooo many people in a tiny area lol and all the chains/spikes/leather/buckles etc can cause some pretty major damage to you and your clothes if you aren't careful ...

keep hydrated (water, not sodas/booze) but don't drink so much that all you do is use the restroom lol ear plugs. a painkiller before hand never hurts either. eat a decent meal before had too, not like RIGHT before, but not four hours before it either lol

BE CAREFUL! STAY TOGETHER! DO EVERYTHING TOGETHER! DO NOT LEAVE EACH OTHER ALONE! KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR DRINKS! NO PURSES/BACKPACKS/FANNYPACKS!

and yes, most important, have fun! lol

.... and smash people tryig to film anything with their phone in the face because all it is is super annoying, you won't be able to see anything anyways and you can find stuff recorded by the professionals online ... and taken pictures during the concert with your phone/camera will earn you a LOT of anger and violence ... really messes with your eyes to have that stupid flash go off next to you all the time ... and don't text during it ... super annoying to, just means you aren't paying attention to the show and it bothers the people around you ... just please be courteous to others they paid a lot for tickets too lol

Don't stress out, just wear what you would normally wear...but bring very comfortable footing...youll be on your feet!

Thanks for the advice so far! I'm a pretty little person, so I think I'll try to stay out of any crazier areas if the crowd. We're gonna try to get right up front though.. :p
Apparently my cousin knows this venue pretty well and it's smaller so hopefully there won't be too many crazy people. My biggest fear is getting picked up or thrown around by people. o_o
