Someday if I do my own yard sale it will start at 3 in the afternoon and end at night.

I would love to see yard sales like that, since I'm at work on Fridays and volunteering Saturdays, when all the sales usually are.

Heres my embarssing yard sale story about a creepy a-hole lurking outside my front door at 5:30 in the morning:

Some people just...need to stop existing.

My best friend and I used to do a joint garage sale ever few months (she moved away, so we can't anymore waahhhhh), and we always put "no early birds" on everything, including craigslist ads. It never worked. We would be setting up at like 6 AM when the sale "started" at 8 and people would show up while we were putting things out.

Mostly scalpers. They're the WORST. We have a big flea market/garage sale thing near us called The Swap Shop and you can set up a table or blanket or whatever for a certain amount of money and sell like its a garage sale. The same people would come to EVERY sale we had and try to haggle us down to almost nothing. They would bully my friend who has an anxiety disorder and is bad at saying no, and she ended up selling her Converse for barely anything. I used to sell a lot of new makeup and nail polish and they'd try and buy the whole box everytime for nothing so they could resell it. That was the worst...they'd do that with everything. "How much for everything?" and I'd give a price and they'd offer like a third of that. Ugh.

Earlybirds make me extremely angry, annoyed and if it's a local garage sale such as mine or one on my street, scared.
They lurk around the neighborhood and make me really anxious. There's some really shady people who buy from garage sales where I live. When you expect them, and it's the proper time, it's alright. But then there's gotta be the ONE PERSON who shows up an hour early, parks his car out of sight, walk up behind you and TOUCHES YOUR SHOULDER to ask you if they can buy stuff early.
When you tell them "no, come back in an hour" they LURK just off your property and WATCH YOU. ;A;

That's so rude! I admit, I buy merchandise to resell. Usually just toys though. Office supplies, jewelry, other stuff, shoes, books, those are for me to keep and use. I always offer a price for "everything" having 4-5 items and usually it's like 2.00 less than the total. They typically take it, and if they counter, I drop one dollar and then take the items.
I'm very proud of my haggling. I've haggled a tablet down in the Sony store of all places! :p You just got to be kind about it. There's a wrong way to haggle and some people are so rude!

I think if early birds show up when you tell them not to turn on the sprinkler system.
