dealing off ebay
« on: June 23, 2013, 06:40:14 PM »
Okiedokie.

So I had something that was an make offer type of thing on ebay, and someone offered me what I think was fair price for the item. I thought I had a few more hours to respond, and was going to respond when I got back to my computer. [Heck, they offered me something earlier to which I also forgot to respond to. I'm so spacey lately.]

They are a member here. Is it really bad taste for me to PM them and ask if they were still interested in purchasing the item. I know blah, blah, blah, ebay doesn't want you to deal out of ebay. But technically I've done business with her, so I imagine the ebay thing is only for safety issues. ... I just don't know if it's bad taste.

I think if the person is a member here (with good feedback), you should be fine. :)

I dunno how Ebay feel about it, but I would on them here. I so prefer dealings outside of Ebay.

From what I've seen and experienced, people who are actually on the arena and deal directly through the arena are most decent and honest than those on ebay.  Ironically enough, the Arena doesn't have all the 'buyer protections,' that Ebay so has, but yet I feel far better dealing on the Arena once I get my photos and such together, than even attempting to do such on Ebay.  If it's someone you've dealt with, I don't see the harm in seeking them out on the arena and asking what they'd like to do and such with it.

I personally would be very happy if I was the person who make that offer too you cause the way I see it is they would have been disappointed that you didn't respond to their offers thinking that it was too low only to turn around and get it offered to them.

I don't see an issue with it, especially since it had already ended. If they are a reputable member here and you feel safe in doing so, then I say go for it.

Thanks everyone.
I find her perfectly great to deal with here. I just didn't know if it could possibly offend anyone this way.
