My Equestria Girls cosplay adventure
« on: June 22, 2013, 02:23:46 PM »
So, I went with a friend today to see Equestria Girls! I finished a new Pinkie skirt and got dressed early this morning (well, early for me anyway) to make the drive to Richmond. I debated on wearing the entire outfit (the wig was almost too much for me that early), but I ended up doing the whole thing.

Once we got there, immediately we found some new friends. We chatted for a bit, then went in to the theater. As soon as I got in, I heard a shout of "PINKIE PIE!" so naturally I looked up because apparently I answer to that now, and found some cosplayers! We promised to get pics after the movie. For the sake of not spoiling, all I'll say is it was AMAZING, and I can PM spoilers if you're interested. ;) I enjoyed it a lot and was dancing in my seat more than once. I also plan to do custom blind bags of at least two of the characters!

(I ended up going full Pinkie Pie and grabbing random people who were standing around watching to get int pictures with us. I swear being in costume does things to me.)

My friend noticed two little girls, couldn't have been more than about 12 and about 9, taking pictures of me through the window, so I went back in and said hi and let them get some better shots. :D Plus hugs because those are always great. Then we went for ice cream with our new friends!

(Me grinning like a dork over my ice cream; the guy we met declared he had to get a pic of Pinkie eating ice cream.)

We talked for the better part of two hours, then exchanged info and said goodbye since we all had a long drive ahead of us. Overall, amazing fun, and I hope I can see it again before it leaves theaters!

Definitely! I enjoyed it a lot. Honestly, I think I enjoyed it more than the season 3 finale. There were three songs, which I think was just enough, the characterization was spot on, and they really managed to make it all about friendship and being good to others, rather than popularity. It ended up feeling like a superlong regular episode rather than awkward or forced, like I was afraid of.
