Maternity clothes for petite girls?
« on: December 21, 2013, 11:50:20 PM »
Does anyone know a store that sells petite maternity clothes? I've been shopping at target and old navy. But their in store selection is very limited. Every once in awhile I'll find something at motherhood that isn't really expensive. I'm under 5 ft so finding short pants is incredibly hard. I can't just buy bigger sizes as the baby spends all day kicking the waistband if I wear regular pants. I'm only 19 weeks and getting huge already

Have you tried shopping online? Or, at Motherhood, asking them if they can order you some petite sizes?

Or just getting your size and hemming.

I really don't like to order online, without trying it on. Motherhood is nice but expensive on some things. I have been hemming, it gets old to hem every pair of pants you buy :)

Best of luck!

Hmm.  Do you have a belly band of some sort?  Target sells them:  http://m.target.com/p/be-maternity-beband-assorted-colors/-/A-13742281

These work well to extend the lifespan of your old pants.  Of course, everything else is going to expand as well, but I don't know where you'd find petite maternity.  Check eBay for things.  A lot of gently worn maternity clothing finds its way there.

Do the belly band. I know many smaller women who never buy actual maternity pants.

Or maybe got with tunics and leggings/tights?  I'm 5'3", so I wore maxi dresses a lot when I was pregnant.  Plus then they are great for the immediate post-baby months while your body is recovering.  :)

I'm 5ft nothing so I hear you!! I used to sit my waist band under my belly, and use the belly bands. We had really good ones here that were super long, so looked like you had just layered your tops. Other than that, I just wore stretchy pants and stretchy skirts :D

But, of course, if you carry the way I carried my son (low and huge), you won't be able to reach your feet to get leggings on. XD

Rolflmao! So far I'm carrying very high. Which is good and bad I guess. Certainly makes keeping pants up a pain.

I hear you there. I was so lucky my mom was around. She helped me out SO much when getting dressed. I was seriously a beached whale when I was pregnant, lol.
