« on: June 01, 2013, 06:46:56 PM »
I got this one of many ponies today, The floral fantasy pony, not talking about strawberry surprise's hair..
and was wondering Until I can rehair it how do I fix that little Mohawk in the front?
and I on the rehair subject how do I rehair her? she is a harder plastic and I don't think the head will come off easy..idk if I even wanna try.
any way of covering up the little Mohawk? And check out my brag to see what I did for "Swirly Wirly"

I cut the mini Mohawk off completely and I used a section from the main to make bangs and secured it with a hair band then boiled it, so for now It hides the nasty cut, I am hoping that I can rehear it I am scared to pop the head off because I don't wanna brake it.

Have you tried really hot water? so the pony will get soft an you can take the head off

Another way instead is to leave in under the hard sun for a bit and she would get soft like when you use hot water, however I live in central america and the sun we have here is really strong , so not sure how many time you would need  for me it takes like 15 minutes to 30 minutes or an hour depending in the time of the day

For cut forelocks, sometimes I've had luck doing a partial rehair without removing the head by cutting the hair as close to the head as possible, then poking a push pin through each plug hole to try to poke the remaining hair back into the body. Then use a rehairing tool to stick new hair into the plug holes-- as long as you're not going to be continually tugging on the pony's hair, it shouldn't be necessary to use glue inside the head or anything. However, sometimes the leftover hair doesn't want to poke back inside the head after you trim it, and that's when you have to bust out the hot water and pry that pony's head off :P

This! I've done this before as well and it worked great to just rehair a few mane plugs. I didn't even have to remove the head at all. :)

Are you familar with the re-hairing tool? It's super easy to use (and super easy to make your own as well), I love it! I'm not really sure where the tutorial is that I used years ago to make my own and use it, but it was just made from a simple sewing needle.

If you don't want to go down the re-hairing route, maybe a hat?? I have a number of ponies with dodgy do's and body blemishes which have benefited from a pony dress or hat.  You could get proper pony wear, make some yourself or, I think there is someone here who makes it - does a really good job by the look of it as well.

I agree with Calico_Star and Teddy, for minor hair issues where it is just a handful of plugs, I have also simply rehaired without removing the head. Yes it means you have limited styling and brushing options as it is not very secure but if its only a few plugs sometimes its better than removing the head.

Heres my fix for now. I thought of how they style MLP FIM hair. making looped bangs or just taking from the main to make bangs. I am still unsure of poping her head off but this is really good for now. and thank you all for making suggestions..especially cutting the rest of that stubby Mohawk hair off. That helped! thank you!

When I do ever getting around to rehairing her I might even change the color from fading pink to blue teal like the flowers..But just a thought..I mean I do like originality so pink it may be.

What do you all think?

she is such a pretty pony, even with all the issues!
I love your fix, I hope it looks equally nice when she dries!
