Shipping time from US to Candada?

I have been out of the trading scene for a while (on a pledge not to buy ponies for 6 months, and have not been actively selling), but agreed to sell an item I still had from an old sales post to a member recently.  It was in a medium bubble envelope; I mailed it First Class nine days ago from the US to Canada and it has not arrived yet.  Should we be worried?  I have had shipping from Canada arrive slowly in the past, but I don't know what is reasonable at current rates going the other direction.

Things tend to take a week to two and a half weeks to get from the US to me here in Canada, if that helps. Our post system is horrible.

^ Pretty much this. Two and a half or even three weeks is average in my experience.

Package shipping times between the US and Canada is often painfully slow. I've had things take a month or more to get to Canada when I lived in the US.
