Does the color of the accessories that come with a Pony affect it's value?

Like would one of these Fluttershy toys be likely to be more valuable than the other one day because of the color of the teapot accessory? Has that happened with previous gens?

Oh they've had variances in the accessories since... well, always.  It doesn't really make them more valuable, as there isn't a specific color for each pony, they just make sure the accessory is in the package.  :)

One of the members here has been collecting G1 stack toys for a couple decades now, and she has discovered that there isn't any rhyme or reason, they just produced the bits of plastic and put them in the box!  :(

Stack toys from 80's- the toy itself would have the same set of colours, but the order of each colour varied! doesn't make a difference which order they appear when it comes to value.

another is the nursery and baby bonnet school of dance, exactly like the teapot both sets contained two different colour acc, which acc came in which colour varied. If your school of dance had a pink leg pole, your ballet box is yellow and vice versa. Again, haven't experienced a value difference buying or selling them. For this, just get whichever one you like better would be my advice.

Other than the examples mentioned by Fantastic Firefly above, random colour changes in accessories was not common in G1. More often than not ponies came with the same colour of accessories - but such swap outs did happen.

However, with the arrival of G2, Hasbro policy clearly changed. What is most common is a pony release having a colour scheme for accessories. For example with the Fluttershy you have posted it would be lilac and aqua. So what then happens normally is almost every accessory in the pack which can be changed colour is produced in all the shades of the colour scheme. Then they are matched up so there are always different colour themes in each pack. Just about every G4 release to date which comes with accessories has been found following this rules. For some ponies this means there are even 4 versions of the release.

To be honest I dont think it adds value...but it does make it really cool!

I wouldn't think it would change the value as the way they are made means that there will be an equal number of each colour.

They use injection moulds with all the different accessories together in one mould (for example the teapot and 2 tea cups would be together in one mould). They would then make equal amounts of each colour and switch them around so that you don't get all the same colour in one pack.

I guess the easiest way to tell is to look at what happened with other gens. As far as I know, accessory colour variation does not change the value in G2s and G3s :)
