Ok, so we have jus come home from our trip, and I have a few things to add myself now!-The Dancing Building was as impressive as I had hoped, and also housed a Michelin restaurant,
Celeste, where BF took me for my birthday dinner. The views were amazing and the food was to die for. The whole thing was spectacular.
-We liked the Museum Of Communism, it was well done, very interesting and heart-wrenching.
-We wanted to visit the National Museum, but the main building that houses the natural history collections was closed for refurbishment, we were super dissaponted by this, especially as I had not seen it mentioned on their website at all. Instead we went to their new building just next to the main building.
-Another museum that I can throroughly recommend is the toy museum within the castle grounds. They have some amazing things on display there, and the top floor houses Barbies 50th anniversary exhibition.
-We also found a minute fashion museum and vintage shop just off of the old square, also really well done and the volunteers have managed to fit a lot into the small space they have.
-On the Lesser Side we also found a museum of film special effects, that I enjoyed nearly as much as my film-maker BF!
-Two other buildings that I was really impressed with were the House of the Black Madonna, a cubist building that also houses an Art Deco style coffee shop, as well as the Municipal House, a very impressive Art Noveau building with murals by Mucha (amongst others).
All in all we enjoyed the visit immensly, and we just didn't have time to do everyting that we would have liked!
Next time, we will most defenitely visit some of the National Gallery buildings, the National Museum (it opens again in 2015), the Puppet Museum and also see the Don Giovanni puppet opera, visit Kutna Hora and see some of the underground caves near Praha.
