Rochelle's stand- problems?
« on: May 16, 2013, 07:24:02 AM »
My Scaris Rochelle's stand will not stay together. When I put Rochelle on it, the base falls off or tips over. I thought maybe it's because Rochelle is heavier than other dolls; she's got the beret, wings, and heavy shoes, but the stick part doesn't seem to snap tightly into the base, so now I'm thinking maybe I just got a bad stand. I'm considering super-gluing the thing together . Has anyone else had problems with putting Rochelle on her stand?

I have this problem with a few of my stands - one of which is B&W Skull Shores Frankie. I'd consider her really light in comparison: just a bathing suit, minimal accessories, no heavy long hair pulling her back. So I don't think it really has to do with who's on it, I think some stands just suck. My GR Cleo stand does it too. I just superglued them together. With my GR Cleo stand, you could see the pole wasn't wide enough at the base to click in, it didn't stay together at all.

Several of my stands do that too. Can't remember which dolls they came with, though.

I've found the green ones that came with the Roller Maze dolls stay together best of all the ones I've got.

A TON of my stands are that way   The worst offender?  Nefera!  Her and I just do not get along!  She is always falling all over, knocking everybody else over :nope:  I also wondered if it had anything to do with size/weight......but probably not.

I kinda like that she's so rebellious:)  Fits her character.  I think, of all my dolls, she's the only one I have strong feelings about.  They aren't positive feelings, but that's okay
I won't be checking this site anymore for messages.  If you need me, you can contact me at the MHArena :bigups:

Yeah, I agree with blackestbird, I think some stands are just suck XD It doesn't seem like any one specific character/doll is particularly known for having a bum stand. It's more of a general plague that afflicts anyone and everyone... (although the stands with clear parts--like the ones that come with the Scary Tales line--are overall more fragile).

I have all my spare stands (mostly black ones) dumped in pieces in a bag and when I want one I just try poles in bases until something clicks. (That... sounds funny. :lookround:) The uniquely coloured ones are much more troublesome since you can't mix and match; I think supergluing is probably the only way to deal with those if they're borked.

My snow Bite's stand does this all the time. I have got so fed up with it, that I'll probably just glue it together.

My Nefera stand does that. I have put her on Venus's stand it she stays, so it is not a weight problem. I examined the stand and found that the part at the bottom of the stick part is slightly fatter than usual. so if I just sand it down a bit it should fit perfectly

i still need to get to sanding it down. When i do I will let you know if it worked

The stand that came with my 1600 Cupid was awful! The back wouldn't even stay in the base.

The pole for my Phys. Dead Ghoulia stand will just not go into the base, even after I superglued it. I also broke the little waist prong while trying to get it on the stupid thing. I hate that stand with a burning passion, but at least Phys. Dead Ghoulia is one of the few dolls with chunky enough shoes to help her stand on her own.

A lot of my stands do this, most especially the black ones. I take hot glue and run it around the pole part and then stick it in. I don't have problems after that. I also use hot glue on the pole part to keep some ghouls [like Spectra] floating.
