G3 count

I seen this on another thread but I can't find it now, so I'm gonna ask and if ya'll direct me to the other thread "THANK YOU"

But I'm curious how many G3's there are???

A LOT!  I missed the other thread but I am curious too ....  I have a pretty extensive G3 collection already but not even close to complete.

I don't know the exact number but there are different ways of looking at it. A lot of the G3's are the same pony in a different pose or with fancier symbols, sooo do you count them as one pony (since technically they are the same pony) or do you count each variant?! In my G3 collection I generally only have one of each pony so I choose which pose/variant I like best and go for that one. Some people like to get every different pony and variant.

I'm more less looking for single character count. I'm curious... even though I'm more of a "Collect the ones I want" I do want to try collecting all the characters of G3's.

If its unique characters then I think its 393 - that includes Comic Con, Fair and Breezies but doesnt include McDs ponies.. However, as others have said totals like that can be very loose as sometimes it depends what people are including in the total.
