Well Lily Blossom was re-released as a promo pack with Applejack for some time ago.
I am not sure why they would re-release her thrice?

Nobody knows what's up with Lily Blossom. She's one of four toy-only ponies with unique vectors, she's had two separate blindbag releases (with many waves in-between), and she's the only non-show-pony to be a McDonald's toy as well. It doesn't really make sense.

Is the blind bag not probably just because McDs toy designers went with the first couple of waves of ponies - hence the Lily Blossom and Cheerilee inclusion?

Possibly, but there's so little way to be sure that I'd think "probably" would be something of a stretch. Cheerilee was in both McDonald's waves, and she's a semi-major show character and a main G3.5 character and the like so that all makes sense. The BB wave 1 cutie mark is simpler than the BB wave 7 cutie mark (or the brushable cutie mark), and the McDonald's cutie mark does roughly match the BB wave 1 cutie mark, but since all the McDonald's cutie marks are simplified versions of the proper ones, it could just as easily have been based on the brushable cutie mark and simplified independently from there. And even if the sole resource McDonald's had for planning their 2012 toys was the 2010 blind bags, why not go with Flower Wishes or Roseluck or Lemon Hearts who were all from the show, or Minty whom they were familiar with already?

I have never seen a Luna by me. South Africa seems to have just recently got the Fashion Style Rarity and AppleJack. Funny that we also got the wedding castle not so long ago. so I don't know why it is taking so long to get the Fashion style ponies.

I would love to get a Luna though

If your toys are that far behind a Luna will be on her way to your stores a bit after these are done.

I didnt mean the blind bag wave. I meant that the McDs toys were a reflection of essentially the first 8 brushable ponies from the playful wave.

To bet honest McDs are more likely to correspond to the toy line than the TV show - as if they did there are far more obvious candidates than Cheerilee.

All in I guess we will never know. Thats the mystery of Hasbro.

This all makes me glad I grabbed a Lily Blossom when it was available. I think I got her just because she wasn't one of the 6 repeats.
