Tripsy's Serious Hair Problem (photo inside)

Tripsy Daisy was supposed to be the clumsy one...
Who you would take care of with her bandaid bracelet accessory or whatever. But this Tripsy has a more serious problem:

I got her/traded her AS a bait on purpose, because I've always wanted to customize one of these plastic heads plush G3s. My goal is to make her a G1 baby! So the condition itself on her doesnt bother me at all. I wouldn't of cared if all her hair was cut off at all. However the fact that it happened /can happen DOES bother me. And it causes me to have some questions too. But first the background info!

What happened exactly?
I was brushing her hair out to clean her up and every single pink hair snapped off at the base of the mane. The hair wasn't frizzed or nasty, it was just a little tangled like they normally get. Hair doesnt feel dry, dryrotted/sunrot, or abused in any way.
How was that pink hair?
It's still sturdy! That scrap of it you see on the table there, you can take the ends in your hands and really yank on it and it wont snap or crumble. It feels healthy & normal, just like any other pony hair.
Was it all intact when you got her?
No. Some was starting to break at the base, other hairs looked like they'd be fine, but then weren't. It would be easy to miss unless you handled her/attempted to comb.

Does anybody else have a Tripsy Daisy that had this happen?
The color looks just like Heartthrob from dollyhair, what went wrong?
Why is her tail just fine, but the mane isn't?
Does this afflict any other plastic heads plush or G3 regulars?
Can you prevent it in any way?
Eeehh does anybody have a cheap Tripsy they're wanting rid of?
(a rare instance where I got a bait before getting a normal)

I don't know about that specific pony-

but I do have some dolls made by Bandai in 2000/2002 thereabouts-  and about half of them have had their hair fall out the exact same way.   I think it was the glue they used on the inside of their heads.  I bet its the same problem with that pony.

Several G3s have a problem with pink hair falling out, (but only a specific color or pink, not ALL pink haired G3s are going to lose their hair any time soon,) but a much lighter pink that your pony had. I think Golden Delicious is cited as having it? Two of my (much older) fakies have the problem with their pink and red toned hairs, respectively.  This is definitely not unheard of in Ponyland, but no one really knows why, beyond that it has to do with some chemical in the red-based colored dyes.
I'll put something here some time

Alas yes its that rotting hair issue which G3s have developed. I think to be honest its probably a combination of the glue used and that particular hair - i.e. pigments not getting along with the glue as it breaks down. It is becoming more and more of a problem with that shade of pink, the hot pink, neon orange and bright green colours.

Poor little Tripsy.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
