Best way to sell off tons of Blind Bags?
« on: May 10, 2013, 09:15:17 PM »
Hey all!
I think I'm going to sell off most of my G4 collection. The majority of it is Blind Bag ponies (I think I have close to 100). I'm just not "feeling it" any more with them. I'm only going to keep some that are special to me or that were gifts.
I was just wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to do this? should I sell them as one big lot? In lots based on the sets? Or should I sell them all individually? I have both the TRU exclusive sets, and the first wave complete. All other waves are partial I'm pretty sure. How much would be a fair price to ask for them? They're all fresh-out-of-the-bag mint, no damage unless they came that way.
Also, how should I sell my playful ponies? I don't have  ton (i think seven?), and most have had their hair cut or styled. Should I sell them in a lot or individually?
Thanks in advance :)

You could sell them as a lot, going by what Wave/Set it is (or even have a "special pony" lot if you have any of the ponies that are the "3 special/unique ponies in each wave").  I do think that selling them individually would also work out as well, and maybe put the blind bag ponies that don't end up selling (after a while) into one lot.
Pricing would depend on which blind bag ponies you're selling and what wave that pony is from. I don't think you'd get much for the mane 6 girls, unless they're the "wave ___ special" ones or sold in a set (like for example having all the main 6 girls in a 6-pony lot).

Hope my wording made sense. ^^
Thank you so much for the adoptable, Corona! :D

This is exactly what I would suggest. Since they're fairly popular, I would definitely list individually first as you will tend to make more than if you sell them as a lot. But, that will take a decent amount of time and effort. (Lots of runs to the post office!) Good luck in your sales! :D

Wave 1 are some of the more sought after blind bags so I'd put them up individually and see how it goes. :)

For the other blind bags it depends if you want to sell quickly or make more money.
Lots sell faster but make less money. Individual blind bags may not sell the first time around so you'd have to spend time re-listing or bumping up sales threads.
If you're going the eBay route the listing fees could stack up, too.

For the brushables I would put them individually, too. Make sure to mention that their hair has been altered though.

Which playful do you have? I'm still looking for a few loose ones so I'd be interested in a list :)

I think initially I would list them individually - mainly as you ll probably get interest for many of them from people looking to round out a collection or looking for a few which they are missing. This also allows people to buy a selection of them rather than having to pick up several lots.

After a while and once interest in the singles has died down, then I would group them into logical lots - whether that be "left over from wave 1", etc etc.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
