whoo hoo = ok = more pics - man, I hope I have as much energy at 70 to want to go to an amusement park with the kids and grandkids (hah, now you know where I get my kid-at-heart sense from that's for sure ;-) age is just a number after all)
so these were my inspiration pics :-) put them in the photo album

loginI used sitting pose bodies (wasn't intentional but one was bubbles and one was seashell) and then a heart throb head and a parasol head so that the two would have their heads tiliting into each other - sorry I didn't think to take before shots
here's granny

loginher hair is yarn that I teased out a bit to get that poufy but not quite puff pony look
her shaw was a scrap of yellow from quilt fabric I colored in lightly with orange water color and then painted on "apples" using the end of a kabob skew to dab the circles randomly and then add stems
the lace was cut off from a larger piece of lace to get the scale right for the scalloped edge
my model was from a G3 clothing cape that I just extended the ties so that I could actually tie it on her
sculpting was done with sculpy as I am still too chicken to work with apoxie when I hear horror sanding stories and I know I sculpt slowly - I cut away her ears underneath and pushed them in and then built it back out to be big enough to get that downward tilt although if I had to redo I would work on that more... that and do the symbols on both sides but man, mixing the colors for the pie I was not sure I could duplicate that !
Oh, and I applied the symbols on using a real simple "tattoo" technique where I printed the cutie mark to scale I wanted, traced over and then flipped over to then trace onto the pony body - alot easier than free-hand since I was going for hasbro look it made sense to just copy what faust created for me already
OK - here's apple rose:

loginher hair was all re-used/salvaged from a sundance and a princess serena (so fading pink - I thought appropriate) and cotton candy tails. Oh but her bangs portion was alpaca wool that I had so just glued that in after making "plugs" and shaped using glue so that is not really brushable now...
Her glasses were a pain = I used jewelry bits. The lenses were just cut plastic from a G4 carton/shell. I cut a gold hoop earing to get that hollow tube and that has string running through to connect behind the two halves (used super glue) along the back of those bent "L" pieces and then it's a bit of necklace chain to complete the loop. I didn't want to cover her eyes so I left it unsecured and it sits nicely on her nose, but I may attach it permanently later... will see
her pony tails were done like you make a tail (used twist ties) = I used straws to curl than boil perm/set and then attached in her neck area en masse as 4 "tail plugs" = that's why that bow is so critical to hide :-) I got them in using a screw driver to widen an exacto "x" carve and very carefully pulled through using a string (well hemp) loop. I had already applied the paint and sprayed dullcote sealer to everything so boy was I glad no cracking on any of the paint or sculpting at that point! dunno if that was the best way to go about that, but I was darn sure I didn't want to make a pattern to "rehair" her whole head and then section out those ponytail parts as i was afraid it would've looked too "thin" hope that makes sense...
oh and her collar was a lace ribbon just cut and secured with a red pushpin "button"
last but not least I sewed a quilt... that was me being insane for a weekend of cutting squares and hand-stitching all that together and then whip stitching the bottom felt and all that to make it look like the picture (darn my kids now know I can sew! used to make my own dresses = 4-H back in the day...)
