So did you noticed, almost everyone thinks country when they think of their dads?? My suggestions would be something country but I would also have a hard time picking who and what song.  Maybe something Kenny Rogers or another 80/90's country singer

We would go to father/daughter dances in Girl Scouts and we used to karaoke, it was always the same song. i would pick that if I could remember.

(onward to explore youtube country for a while)

I wish I could help. My dad didn't actually turn up to my wedding, and I knew he wouldn't, so I didn't have a dance planned even, it'd just make me too angry to think about! So glad you lovely ladies have dads you can depend on! Best of luck!

My dad and I have significance with this song so we've already decided it will be ours. (I have the songs picked out, now all I need is a groom! :silly:)

The song is light and fun, but it isn't really bouncy either, so maybe something along these lines?

I think it's just that country music tends to have more slower, ballad-type songs about family relationships.

If Nancy Sinatra's version of the song goes a little fast, could you find a version that doesn't, maybe a cover? Or maybe you could hire a band as a last resort... It's also pretty popular these days for orchestral or string quartet arrangements all sorts of songs to crop up on YouTube, with download links and everything, so if a song doesn't quite work you could also luck out there. For example, here's one of All Star

Here's some more brainstorming. Are there any appropriate songs with his name in it? Or yours? You looked into some bands he likes, how about movies, for their soundtracks?

I just had a brainwave!  The first CD my dad ever bought me was Celine Dion (I loved her when I was like 10).  "Because You Loved Me" would probably be good.  Thoughts?
