Thanks all!
I guess I never shared my methods...
All I did for her was a Oxy-Clean Boil Bath (yes, tail and all, but tail was removed from body first) - and there was no washer to speak of left...
Tail rust was removed thanks to Toothpaste (THANKS JINXXY!)
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the body, plus some hot oxy-water for some scrubbing in the saddle crevices (still probably need like a toothpick or something on some little areas)
And then my conditioner-boil-brush method SEVERAL times to get her hair back to "soft" and not "straw" (that's the worst part of Oxyclean...), and now I've got to work on finishing smoothing it, but... I did NOT have to repink her, or haven't yet... so, I was pretty happy with the fact that once her hair cleaned up, it's decently pink.
My pink background fades out pink hair in photos (I should've thought of that before using it for ALL my photos... but, not changing now, hahah too stuck in my ways!
) - but, I probably will resist re-pinking her incase I get an upgrade and do send her on to a better home...
But, thanks everyone for the kind words! She's so much happier now that she's FREE of all that heavy black gunk and isn't "gray" anymore but is WHITE! I was completely surprised that she cleaned up as well as she did and I absolutely LOVE restoring ponies, so this one, I believe to date, was my biggest transformation. It gives me hope for many ponies I see out there labeled as "bait"... the only thing I haven't conquered yet is sunfading ink.... I'm SO impatient, lol!
-Dunno if anyone will read this but, has anyone ever tried fading under a blacklight (aka UV?)
