Thanks all!

I guess I never shared my methods...

All I did for her was a Oxy-Clean Boil Bath (yes, tail and all, but tail was removed from body first) - and there was no washer to speak of left...
Tail rust was removed thanks to Toothpaste (THANKS JINXXY!)
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on the body, plus some hot oxy-water for some scrubbing in the saddle crevices (still probably need like a toothpick or something on some little areas)
And then my conditioner-boil-brush method SEVERAL times to get her hair back to "soft" and not "straw" (that's the worst part of Oxyclean...), and now I've got to work on finishing smoothing it, but... I did NOT have to repink her, or haven't yet... so, I was pretty happy with the fact that once her hair cleaned up, it's decently pink.
My pink background fades out pink hair in photos (I should've thought of that before using it for ALL my photos... but, not changing now, hahah too stuck in my ways!) - but, I probably will resist re-pinking her incase I get an upgrade and do send her on to a better home...

But, thanks everyone for the kind words! She's so much happier now that she's FREE of all that heavy black gunk and isn't "gray" anymore but is WHITE! I was completely surprised that she cleaned up as well as she did and I absolutely LOVE restoring ponies, so this one, I believe to date, was my biggest transformation. It gives me hope for many ponies I see out there labeled as "bait"... the only thing I haven't conquered yet is sunfading ink.... I'm SO impatient, lol!
-Dunno if anyone will read this but, has anyone ever tried fading under a blacklight (aka UV?)

Thanks hun!

I think doing this kind of stuff for ponies is one of my favorite things ever about being a collector... restoration just strikes me (I know I'm not alone, there are a lot of wonderful pony restorers out there with me who know what I mean!) - it's so amazing that a toy that is as OLD as the G1s are now (seriously, think about it!! Some are 30+ yrs!) can still be brought back to life... and made into something you'd be happy to display on a shelf, not just, shove in a bottom drawer because it's all gross and dirty...

Anyway it's so nice for all of you to comment on her transformation! Her and I really appreciate all the pony-love goin on here!!

I completely agree with you! There's something so very rewarding about taking a pony that needs some love and giving some restore action! :o)
(Though I will admit I do have some of those gross dirty ones that get set aside for another time... lol)

She looks lovely now, nice work! I am currently working on one that looked very similar when I opened her up, she's had a lot of toothpaste on her insides today.
