Nostalgia
« on: April 15, 2013, 05:55:40 AM »
I got my CP Lemon Drop today off Whippycorn. Holding her brought back my memories of my childhood. It's really funny how one toy can remind you of so much, my childhood Lemon Drop went the same way as my Cherry Treats...permanent marker red lips eek my bad. I remember getting the show stable, I had the grooming parlour (I think Kisscurl came in mine). I remember being allowed to put on a little play with my ponies in my class in school and I did one once in front of the whole school just making up stories with my ponies (I had quite a few). I used to do little voices for them.
Lemon Drop reminds me of a time when I was happy, a time before high school when I was bullied, my ponies helped me forget that my stopped seeing me. All my ponies remind me of when life was innocent and constant.

Has holding a pony brought back memories for you and what pony/ponies do hold a place close to your heart?

Yes! I got the nostaligic feeling when I got the Birthday Pony. I can't explain what it was about holding her, but I just felt like I did when I had her when I was a child. She's very special to me for that reason. I am always tempted to start an army

For the same reasons I mentioned in a thread the other day - it is Masquerade for me :) She, Applejack and Bow Tie certainly bring me back the happiest memories!
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Some of mine bring back birthday parties and when I got to go to the store with my mom. None of them are longer open in my town, but I can still remember how they were all set up and were the ponies were at :)

Well, G2 Wingsong was my first ever pony so I guess she will always be the most special to me! She was also the first I bought again when I decided to rebuild my small childhood herd, so it was just like getting my old first pony all over again. I can clearly remember the times when I got my other 3 childhood ponies too.

Honestly though, I think all G1 or G2 ponies make me feel a little bit nostalgic, even ones I didn't have and all the ones that are years older than me... It's a little strange, it's like they bring me back to somebody else's childhood.
