Removing Glue and Other Spots
« on: April 10, 2013, 03:49:46 PM »
Hello, everyone!

I started collecting ponies a short while ago, and today I acquired a pony with some glue left on it from the factory, and I was wondering what steps I could take to get it off.

Chemicals? Abrasive sanding? What would you guys and gals recommend?

And while we're at it, why not share some similar tales you may have had with treating ponies with glue or blemishes or ink stains? We're all bound to learn something.

I would initially try acetone or even goof off to remove it to be honest - you may need to revisit it several times in order to remove it completely. As acetone and good off can eat into the plastic, you are best to clean it off, remove it and then go back to it several times than leave it to soak in. Depending on where you are in the world scrubbing with sugar soap works brilliantly to get glue off.

As for cleaning tips - I rely on this thread...http://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,292336.msg136755.html#msg136755 - it is full of awesome ideas :)
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
