What did I find? Tiny ponies?

Hi everyone!
So, I'm super new to collecting, and I've been Value Village hunting. I usually find lots of G3s (which I've fallen in love with) and fakies.
The other day though, I found these guys at the bottom of bag of G3s. I'm way more familiar with G4, and these look to me to be the G3 version of a blind bag? Where did they come from, how rare are they, how much are they worth? All things I'm wondering. Thanks!

Ooh. Admittedly I'm not positive. I thought of the Tiny Tin ponies, but I don't think these are those.

Edit: Wait, on doing a search, maybe that's what they are. Hmm. I don't know much about them.

I think they come with a book/playmat/accessories.  Can't think of the name ATM.

Welcome to Ponyville. I got this book at Walmart for $11.99, the back page is a play mat and you get the pony figures and accessories, like a tower cake.

  Their paint jobs are super sloppy LOL  Even my MIB ones are sloppy painted. It might be fun to custom them or just fix their sloppy paint jobs and make them pretty.

True! I'm a performer and never considered myself much of an artsy-type artist. But they are quite sloppy so maybe ill take my hand at doing something with them. (Except pinkie, she's headed to join the army hehe!)

Ohhh. The molds themselves are cute, so it's too bad they're so sloppily painted. I'd like to get my hands on that tiny Star Song someday though!

I really like these to be honest. I agree the finish is poor but thats probably an indication of the original price. but I like the creativeness of the poses more than some other small figures.

EDIT: Oh ok, beaten to it. There's a G4 one out too now I think that's just as... special!
