I have made plushies before, namely for an A level project because I wanted to try my hand at it. I can safely say I'm not the worst in the world, but I have a loooong way to go!
So, this is my first attempt at making a pony with the fabric I had lying around. I had previously made a massive pink fluffy tail for my Pinkie Pie cosplay last year, so I thought it appropriate to use up the last of the fabric for it, and by chance I had some pink felty fabric in my fabric bin, so of course the only option I had was to make Pinkie Pie.
Now, I know for certain I'm complete rubbish at making patterns, so I found a fantastic already made pattern on deviantart,
right here!Awesome pattern, but super complicated instructions x_x
So, after doubling the size of the pattern and stitching it all together, I set about making a pattern for the mane & tail.

I over complicate things, really. The mane gusset I made expand on the large curls/bumps and taper towards points. This took waaay too long, but looked good so I can't complain.
The tail I just took an inch strip with turnings and used that as the gusset, damn easier.
And, after about 2 and a half days of working, this is what she looked like!

And I also stuffed her! She has about 10g of clock parts weighing her down in each foot, meaning she can stand in almost any position, hehe!

Hopefully I can finally get all the stitching done tonight, and then I'll have to start planning out eyes and cutie mark!
