A friend helped me buy a G1, complete with sticker, ribbon, comb and brush. The pony was only sold in the UK so she let me borrow her account, she's not a collector. She's sending me the pony when she gets it and I'm paying for everything.

She just told me she had sent me the pony and that it was: a pony, a sticker and a comb. The ribbon might be in the tail as in the photo but the comb isn't just missing its brush, it's a "clear plain comb".

So, it looks like I'll have to contact the seller once I get my parcel. I'll do it via my friend's eBay account. Here's my question: Should I say who I am and that the pony was bought via a friend's account or should I "pretend that I am my friend"? The seller might not have been persistent on only selling to the UK because the ad was made via a mobile phone and maybe it's just the default setting? Or maybe the seller won't like that the pony was sold outside the UK? It would be easier for me to explain everything and say that the pony was sold to another person, that would also explain why it took a while before I contacted them. What do you think I should do?

If you get the package and something is missing, I think it best for your friend to contact the seller since the item was purchased with her account. In future, you can always contact a seller and ask if they will ship internationally before you bid.

I would most certainly contact them through her account and it maybe with in your best interest to pose as her.  Although I don't really condone that, sorry  :(   It can and will compromise her account if she let someone else use it and the seller decides to report it.

How disappointing for you! :(  I think to be on the safe side I would ask your friend to contact the buyer herself for you (you can tell her what to say in the messages)
. If you did contact the seller through your friends account (which might be risky as ponylady mentioned)  , then do it as if you were your friend, and not someone else using your friends account

I'd definitely pose as your friend, sellers can get nasty if they've knowingly not included something, and if they have a reason to retaliate, they might!

Ebay will be upset that you used someone else's account if they find out, regardless of the reasons why.  They really frown on circumnavigating a seller's policies by going "around" the rules and using a different person's account who does fit the seller's criteria.  :(  I would have your friend contact them - write her a script of what you need to her to communicate.  Just have her behave like it was a gift for a friend - because it was.
