My swap partner for the Grail Swap was none other than our hostess, LadySatine!

This gave us a slight logistics issue, as I wanted the pony to be a surprise, but there are photo checks during swaps. So, special thanks go out to Colorscapesart, for being willing to view my images and send approval notes to LadySatine for my progress. Thanks, hun!

I ultimately decided to do this girl becuase how often do the Columbians come up for sale? I've certainly never seen them!

Colorscapesart was a big help with the body color; I originally had it a few shades lighter, and she suggested making it a bit more orange than peach. According to LadySatine, it looks spot on from one she's seen! Ha! Doubt I'll ever be able to pull that off again!

This was my first custom in which I wound up doing a graphite transfer of the cutie mark - I was having difficulty getting the sizing and what-all right prior to someone suggesting it.

Thank you again to whoever you were (I forget!

). The graphite was a bit hard to cover, but no real complaints here.

After that, the eyeslashes then became the hardest part - no matter how I try, I can't seem to make eyelashes look right.

Even have the smallest brush Blick's could find for me, and to no avail. Blargh. I shall keep trying!
Since I didn't have time to mix more paint for the body and make a little baby to go along with the pony, I decided on the next best thing, and asked LadySatine what her favorite ponies were in the G1, G3 and G4 lines. She told me Masquerade, Core 7 ToolaRoola, and Spike.
![LOL ](https://mlparena.com/Smileys/default/laugh1.gif)
(In retrospect, I should have realized that about Masquerade, since she's right there in LadySatine's siggy, avidly reading a book.
![Wink ;)](https://mlparena.com/Smileys/default/wink_001.gif)
) Since I was keen on doing the G1 cuties, I selected Masquerade, cleaned up a cutie-mark photo in PSP, and imported the photo into PC Stitch Pro. A few lunch breaks at work, and we have a cross-stitched pin, done in 22 stitches per inch.

Yes, my dad asked if I was trying to go blind.

My regret for this is it's not finished as nicely as I would like. The glue holding the yarn and felt backing in place leached through, which is why the white is there amoungst the pink. I shall have to find a new way to finish these. I was originally going to whip-stitch around the edges with yarn, but finishing off the edges of the cloth hardened it too much to get a needle through it. D'oh!
I'm glad LadySatine likes her pony, and hope she enjoys the little present I sent along with her! Thanks for looking, everypony!
