Thanks all! My Dr is booked out till Tuesday, so once the kiddies have gone I'll go to the free clinic. And wait. And wait  we always joke about phernergan, back in the day one of our neighbors used to dose her kids with it so they'd sleep from 6.30 pm till morning

Eesh that is definitely an allergic reaction. :x

The last major sting I had was from a wasp about 12 years ago and my entire right thigh ballooned up. It was awful!

They skipped the antihistamines and put me straight on Prednisone (not sure if it's called that AUS) because the reaction was so bad.

Oh wow. You are probably allergic to bees.  I got stung once, but it did not look like that.  You have gotten good advice. Sorry you have to wait so long.

Yeah, I'm one of those that can potentially die from bee stings, so it scares the crap out of me.  But you're definitely having a reaction.  Take some Benadryl until you make it to the doctor!

My god that's AWFUL! You do build up a resistance to it though, It takes a few hours to knock me out now, as opposed to the 5-10 minutes it used to take! I remember when I first took it I woke up with a soft drink can stuck to the side of my face... I literally passed out!

Please go to doc quickly! Allergic reactions can get worse quickly. I've been there (not bee stings.) Was put on Prednisone which is a steroid in addition to 2 antihistamines, Zyrtec and Benadryl. Good luck!

When we got stung by wasps, my mom made a paste out of baking soda and some water - then we just globbed the paste onto the sting. Seemed to help a bit.

bee and wasp stings are different chemicals :) so that won't work for a bee sting :(

love pkw xxx

I did not know that, but it makes sense.
Hate those stupid little buggers that got us though - I had 8 stings on me :(

Well I've got antibiotics, claratyne and a sexy black texta circle around the swelling, and instructions if it reaches my throat/mouth to go straight to emergency :) And an a second appt for Tuesday. It's already made it's way out of the texta line, so fingers crossed the antibiotics kick in soon
