We all know that the G4 kids books will be released this spring by Little Brown Kids publishing. Well, I work in a Hachette Book Group warehouse. We own and distribute LB Kids books.
We had a meeting at work today. The CEO and some of the other big wigs flew in from NYC. While they were showing us what new books would be coming out in the next year, the guy brought up My Little Pony. They showed one of the books on the screen. It was dark purple (I think...) with Rainbow Dash on the cover. He told us that the MLP books would be coming out this spring. Then he asked, "Are there any Bronies here?" without even thinking about it, my hand shot up in the air. Then I looked around and realized that I was the only one with my hand up. I was fully expecting there to be at least three or four other people with their hands up. I know for a fact that I'm not the only pony fan there. I guess I was just the only one willing to admit it.
But since I was the only one, I did have a bit of a Fluttershy moment where I just wanted to crawl under my chair and hide.
Anyway, the guy went on to say that, "There are a couple Bronies in our New York office and they are really excited about these books." He must have been getting confused looks from some people because he finished by explaining what a "Brony" is.
I was just so SHOCKED to hear Bronies being mentioned at a company meeting. I wonder how many people didn't understand what he was talking about.
At least he knows that one person understood. Next time we have a meeting like this I'll have to wear my Rainbow Dash hat.
