Liquid Rit Dye?
« on: January 23, 2013, 04:39:37 AM »
Hi, can liquid rit dye work on pony plastic? Has anyone tried it?
I had some years ago but thought it didn't but I might have been using it wrong.
Do you just add it to a pot of water and heat it up the same way?

I've used it. :) It works much the same as powdered Rit Dye, just, you don't have to spend as much time mixing it. I prefer getting the liquid kind when I can, however, be careful that the bottle doesn't leak, I've had to throw a couple of bottles out for that reason.

Thanks, I can't seem to find Evening Blue in the powder form so might have to try the Liquid instead!

It works fairly well, but for me I have I have to use a good bit more of the color than I would with powdered form.

I've used black liquid RIT
What I do is get a pot full of water and put a cap full of the liquid dye into the batch then use as normal XD

Yep, I've used the liquid with no problem as well.
I guess the only hard ones are the G4s, right?

I have boxes upon boxes of the liquid stuff. I got it at an estate sale. It works the same. The only problem with RIT dye is it does fade over time. I've never tried any of the chemicals used to set dye permanently.
