Pony Projects
« on: January 12, 2013, 11:06:58 AM »
I recently bought a pony off etay she was perfect but there was a stowaway in the padded envelope with her. one was a fakie that was easy to clean and fix up but the other was forget me not. her body was really dirty but in good condition but her hair well you be the judge....... I have already bathed her and started by just shampooing and conditioning her hair as it is so dry just in the hope of giving it some protection whilst i try to make something of it.

I think this might take some time to fix in the mean time has anyone else got some pony restorations they are currently on with.

I have not restored a pony in a long time, but she looks fixable, even in the bad shape she is in. Brush out her hair the best you can, shampoo it, and then wrap it in curlers. Leave it to dry. If that doesn't work, there is always re-hairing.

Brush conditioner into her hair, and take the time to get out all the tangles. Then, go ahead and leave it alone for at least a day, until the conditioner stiffens. From my experience, leaving in the conditioner for a good while helps a bit with really mussy hair. When rinsing the hair, use very hot water, then curl or style the hair as you desire. The heat from the water will help the hair to hold whatever style you use as the hair cools down again. :)

Gosh she will be fun :)

I agree with reanna on the above that's how I deal with frizzy hair. First I dip it in very very very warm water a few times. Then massage in some conditioner and detangler - use a metal comb and brush really gently - dont chug or pull on the hair. When its as straight as possible massage in lots and lots of conditioner - I then wrap the hair in clingfilm/saran wrap for 12 to 24 hours and then wash out. Make sure the hair is squeaky clean - shampoo - and then brush again. I wait for it to air dry to see where the problems remain and then if necessary more conditioner and a flat iron in order to remove the last little bits of frizz.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
