Wow! Good on you for fixing up a pony that sounded like it would otherwise have been... well, a lost cause :( Poor Baby Sunribbon... oh well! She's extra-special now

I have some critique for you, if you wish.

Things I like:
-I love the antique looking lace on her! Especially the bow on her head. It's so sweet.
-the metallic look is really cool.
-the hair! Wow, you do some nice sculpted hair.
-the colour palette. Great job on working with such a limited selection. It's also great to see a steampunk pony that isn't all brown and brass.
-on the same note, good on you for not COVERING her in cogs. I am getting tired of seeing "steampunk" = covered in gears!!
-love the pearls!

Things that could be better:
-maybe you could use hot water to give the fox fur a little shape, like bending it toward her so it flows along with her hair. It looks kinda weird sticking out straight.
-I think the gems above her eyes are a little too much, like they make her face crowded.
-the roses look out of place to me. Either too large, or too white.
-I think her lower jaw needs a bit more clay added.

Fantastic work, for your very first custom! I'm sure we'll be seeing some amazing creations from you when you really get going!

Hey thanks I really appreciate this! I never thought about styling the fox fur, so I will definitely have to give that a try, I was trying to make the one in the tail go down with the curve of it better... just never thought about using hot water!

The eye gems - I don't like them either, honestly, but if you could've seen how badly I messed up her face because I tried to save her eyes by taping them off before painting her... ugh, it was the only thing I could do to really cover up the giant thick paint line, that is something that I will remember for next time!

And maybe that's why her face looks wonky! I need more clay on the bottom jaw... that would make sense. When I tried to sculpt her face the first time I was actually watching FIM on TV, so I kinda went towards a more cartoon-y G4 face (TRIED! LOL!) - I think if I were to do her all over I would've tried to make her mouth look more normal, and probably closed, lol :D

And thanks everyone for all the nice words!!  I appreciate you guys taking the time to look at her and reply!

Her hair is awesome, as to the face, the best way to learn is to have another baby pony by you so you can use that as reference.  Nothing like the real thing.  Also a tool we use in customs is a set of calipers - they can be used to measure things like size, distance and the like.  You can take them and use them on a OF MLP and then check it agonist what you are doing.   Hats off for a first try at it, you did good.

Diamond - that's a great idea, lol - if I ever have to remake another face I'll remember that technique, thanks! :)

I have to join the chorus: her hair is absolutely stunning, beautiful.
The pony as a whole is fabulous.
