How do you ship ponies without paying an arm, leg, and your firstborn???

I'm trying to find a way to ship a Sweetsong to a user on here who wants her. They live in Canada. I figured I'd have to pay a bit to get her there, but...30, 40, 50$?! What the heck am I doing wrong D:

Try USPS First Class International. Shouldn't be more than $10 for 1 pony. I calculated $5 at USPS.com online postage calculator.

No worries Where are you looking for your shipping quote? I know USPS.com will automatically show just the 'priority' mail option when you 'calculate a price', and you have to actually click on 'first class' to be able to see the (much) cheaper rate.

Just to clarify, is this the G3 Sweetsong or the G4 Sweetsong? The G3 you can probably just put in a padded envelope, fill out a customs slip and send her out, but if it's the G4 version with wings you may need to find a box so that she arrives ok You can get the priority flat-rate ones for free at the post office and then cover them with brown paper or something so that you can send them via first class to save money

Actually in my experience shipping to Canada First Class International is fairly cheap.  I would say almost comparable to shipping within the US.

It should only cost around $3.45 or a little higher.  I am going by an estimate of 4 ounces in a Bubble Mailer.  It should not cost over $5.

If I'm buying from the US (to Canada) I always go with first class mail given the option, super affordable. It costs me less to buy from the US first class then someone in Canada shipped with our postal system. The only times I've ever paid for priority US is for over-sized parcels or the rare times I purchase from a seller who only uses priority (usually lots I won for a really low bid on ebay. So even with shipping the total comes well under what I was willing to pay for the ponies alone).

Strangely I've found first class parcels to process through customs much quicker and they often arrive faster then priority mail as well.....  I've never had any lost US packages, priority or first class, so the service is reliable.
