I've been calling her Christmas Gifts or Christmas Tree and various varients thereof (including Christmas Paws for a cute reason), but Aflame can call her whatever name is wanted.
She started as a G1 Scoops that I received in a lot of bait ponies I bought from ebay. She had no hair, one of her eyes was missing, and it looked like whoever tried to remove her cuties before used something that didn't quite work, and instead of taking them off it just faded them.
The other Scoops that was in the bait lot is in my window, attempting to sun-fade a red splotch of something from her knee.
Anyway, I acetoned her, washed her off and let her dry upside down for a few days, then started painting. I'd decided on the metallic purple color from the start - I'd just bought the paint pack, and specifically for that color - it had to be used! I started with just the metallic, and didn't even cover an inch of her head before deciding that like most metallic paints, it would take over 10 layers if I didn't use something underneath it first. Wiped off the paint, and on went two layers of pale violet. Three layers of metallic later, it still wasn't covering how I wanted it to. On went two layers of regular purple, and with three layers of metallic on top of that, I was happy with the body.
The tree and presents are something I planned on from the start of reading what Aflame wanted. It's dark green with some strokes of a lighter green for highlights. I tried doing the lights in a glitter paint, then relized there wouldn't be much to see if I did that. Off it came. On went the white dots, which started out being farther apart. Then I decided the tree would be the old-fashioned kind, with no lights - the white dots were put in closer together and became a string of popcorn, the dark red dots are therefore cranberries, and the colored ornaments went in wherever.
The presents under the tree started with a basic idea in mind. The rocking horse was acrtually the first thing I painted on; it's based on the toy one I have in my workshop (toy meaning it's about a foot tall). The other gifts went in there haphazrdly, ending with the little kitty coming out of it's box. The window and snow were put in between gift boxes.
Her eyes are green, two shades of red, and white. They're thrice-sealed in gloss, while her body is twice-sealed in matte.
I really like the way this pony turned out, and I'm glad Aflame likes her!
