Usually BBTS has decent prices for their ponies, but for some reason these are doubled in price. There's nothing special about Rarity or Pinkie Pie either.

i was under the assumption that the CE princesses WERE going to be more TARGET EXCLUSIVES.

prehaps this could explain the price?
bbts is paying retail/near retail for them  then  onselling them / "flipping" them ?

hmmm, sounds about right. Given that it's about 65 Malaysian ringgits a set over here, and this is two sets.

Plus, White Celestia. They're probably selling too well that it created a shortage...

These sets were really expensive on ToyWiz as well, but I figured that was just ToyWiz being ToyWiz...

They are not store exclusives - they will be a wider release. Target got exclusively on toys at the start of the Crystal Empire line [the FS SA & Cadence, rainbow blind bag set, etc] but not on all Crystal Empire products.

On the price I would suspect one of two things

1) They have switched the digits in price - check out the pack on EE http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HLPA2004AA#.UMyry291GSo- its $25.99 not $52.99

2) They have mislabelled and it could be a wholesale set and in fact there are 2 of each in the box or the $52.99 price is for a 4 pack and they have accidentally put it against the box with one of each from the wave.

Could be the white Celestia in there.  Apparently white plastic is more expensive than the pink stuff.....

They are actually a couple dollars cheaper on Toywiz than BBTS, which makes BBTS's price very unusual.
