One thing to note is that the vast majority of so-called UK ponies are actually European rather than UK. Even the Mountain Boys, Gypsy and Honeycomb who didn't have the wider European that others did, were sold in small quantities in places that sourced their stock from Hasbro UK (like some Scandinavian countries and Australia). The only 'true' UK ponies are the oddball Princesses, Happy Tails and flutters.

You know I've honestly been trying to correct myself from saying UK ponies and saying Euro ponies or NonUS ponies (since I'm based in the US), for that very reason... but half the time when I go to type it for a European pony, I type UK... I need to get better about that because I don't honestly think I have any true 'UK' ponies, just Euro varieties.

Variant is probably the term that I will cling to the most... it seems to encompass not only the slight changes from the 'normal' release, but variants can also be Nirvanas, right? Like... Argentina Sugarberry or something (does that exist, did I name a real pony? lol) she's a Variant of Sugarberry but also a Nirvana? And then there are just those stand along Nirvanas that are not some other variation of a pony...

Am I getting that right? LoL now that I've typed it I feel like I just ran in circles...

Later tonight I'm employing the help of my bf to move all the boxes (and Paradise Estate) which is on top of my MOC ponies (not... like sitting on top of it crushing them, lol, they're in a big tote) and see if I can't read the feet of Parasol and Locket...

The Parasol is an Italian variant :) She was made with both types of rainbow pony hair (normal/set 1 and tropical/set 2).  I don't believe there's much of a price difference between the two (I got my loose one with tropical hair for around $15. Italian Starshine also comes with both types of hair, but in Starshine's case the tropical hair is more expensive.
I wish I could find a loose Parasol with tropical hair for that cheap, hehe I don't even think I've seen one (and nor did I even like... realize mine had different hair than the normal Parasol would...)

EDIT:
Okay I finally had a chance to dig into my MOC ponies... this is what I found out....

1) Argentina Flutterbye does have completely white hair, and I mean absolutely 100% completely, all strands, root to tip of mane and tail. BUT - I still believe she's just faded...

2) Locket does not REALLY have Pat. Pend stamped on her foot. You can very very faintly see where it was on the mold that they used for her, but it is not even closed to being stamped in like the rest of the feet. Basically, it's non existant, I'm sure if someone just happened to look at her you wouldn't see anything on that foot. I just looked at it really close to see for sure, since it's hard to see in the package.

3) Tropical Parasol IS Italian. :D Her eyes are kind of odd, I think they are the stamped eyes, but they're missing the outer white part after the pupil/iris area, on both sides. And they're a bit off the actual mold. (Are they all like this?)

This has been super fun finding out about all the ponies I had that I didn't even know were something out of the ordinary... now if I could only make scores like I apparently used to (I have hardly any recollection of buying ANY of those ponies... again, over 10 years ago)...

oooh yes, one other thing.  A beautiful picture of my newest variant:
