I was there for 2 years since I moved abroad cos of my dads job when I was 11 and then stayed for my GCSEs until I was 16. Due to the type of country it was theres no real future there (especially as a female) and everyone is there under sponsorship, if my dad changes jobs then no one can stay.
So I had to move back home and into boarding school. Was quite a daunting situation but was necessary as I didnt want to be selfish and split my parents up. I was there for 2 years for my a-levels. Its nothing like I expected at all. I guess it wasn't a true boarding school since it was mainly day pupils and a small boarding house. The girls section was very run down and old and I was unlucky to not have any girl in my year who was western. Lots of my friends went but they were all from down south and went to really big Hogwarts type boarding school. Coming from a small village in the north west (we chose there as our family home was 10 mins away) it was a bit of a let down! The food was so terrible I barely ate and lost loads of weight and was quite depressed in my final year since I found it so stressful!
However, I grew up quick and it helped me become independent at a steady pace. You learn a lot of useful things and how to tolerate people. Moving to uni was no big deal and I was really excited to leave that place! Its still good to say since it shows I have the experience and I was the head girl in my last year (so i could have my own bedroom lol). So I guess I would recommend it if you go to a really nice posh one!
The best thing I take from it is thats where I met my boyfriend in my first year there (although he was a day pupil) and we're still together 3 years later even though he left for uni a year before me <3
Yeah me too! Im planning to do lots in easter (if i dont have too much work :s) and of course summer!
