Liv Wig Help
« on: December 28, 2012, 02:59:01 PM »
I bought some Liv wigs on ebay since I couldn't find any in stores :(  Now I got them today and they aren't fitting very well - the tabs aren't the same obviously - so how do you guys get this to work? I'm tired of my hairless CAMS ;P

I've seen/heard people shave down the peg so it fits into the slot of the CAM head. I've also seen someone adjust the hole in the CAM head (like making/cutting more space in the hole) so the peg of the Liv wig would fit in more.

Hope these ideas help!

What I did was stick the tip of a pair of scissors in the wig cap hole and turn a couple times.  The scissors "shave" open the hole slightly and round it out so that the liv peg fits, and the MH wig pegs still fit too:)

Don't press the scissors in too deep, though.  You just need to open the hole alittle bit.  The first time I did it a made the hole too big, and the wig kept falling out.  The second time I did it, the LIV wig actually pops on and off.  I can even hold her upside down the wig stays on!
I won't be checking this site anymore for messages.  If you need me, you can contact me at the MHArena :bigups:

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions :) I'm glad these are working out so well and they finally have some hair :)

I cut off the pegs, and the wig will just stay on if the wig is one of the earlier ones. If it's a newer one, then you'll have to use tape/velcro/ect.
I took a break from the Arena from a couple months due to school and other things in my life. But I'm back now!

They also sell silicone caps for the bjd's, maybe you could get one of those off ebay if you find they aren't sticking?

I cut the tab right off mine and I had to make a wig cap from old t-shirt material, everything fits snugly now

I used a dremel to shave down the peg, still needs work but it actually goes on the head now.

I cut the peg off completely, then position the wig where I want it on the head, then use straight pins to keep the wig in place. I use 3 or 4 pins: One on each side of the head, one at the nape of the neck, then one up near the hairline, usually opposite of where the part is. The heads of the pins are flat so once they're pushed into the wig, the hair will cover them up, and you won't even know they are there!
