Ok so I finished my first reroot on a MH doll (lemme tell you what...I added WAY too much hair, but she looks good!  Just need to cover a booboo I had with paint and call it a scar.  *cough* )  and I put Modge Podge in there to seal over the roots like I do with MLPs, but I was wondering if that was ok?  Should I have used something else?  I've never heard of the right glue or material to use to seal it over.  I will be brushing and styling her hair, possibly even washing it out fairly soon, and i wanted to see what would work best for this.  I'll try to post pictures of her tomorrow when I get to my parent's house.  =]

Also, since I am going to be painting that scar, I want to see pictures of MH scars or doll scars, plus tips on how to make it look decent?

Mod Podge should be okay, as long as you never get her head wet. I've have great success with FabriTac glue rubbed inside of the skulls to maintain a reroot as well.

Drat.  I'm wanting to wash it so I can kinda get it cleaner and looking a bit more tamed, and to get the small marks I put there with a pen...hmmm....do you think that I could put the fabritac on her roots as well and see what it will do?  Or did I already mess up big time?

ETA: Here is a picture of the break in her scalp, and my pretty girl!

I sealed the break over with some e6000 which seems to be working right now, but I can't poke holes in it, so scar seems to be the way to go.

I already told you how awesome she looks.. ;>
But out of interest: How did you reroot her? Did you just poke the strands in there with a rehairing tool and secure with glue or did you put a knot at the end of each strand? (and used glue to secure THAT)

I always put in knots and thus never used glue on my rehairs.. And now I am wondering if I should have.... xD

lol thank you!

I did the rehairing tool method.  >.<  I don't like having to do knots so I don't do it very often, though I probably should.  I know it would be sturdier...  >.<
