question about mold/mildew ona g1 playset (solved)

so i recently aquried a g1 playset (lullabye nursery) i love it to pieces.  i'm happy i got it. and i enjoy  cleaning palysets up making htem look newish.  or as new as ic an and  adding them to my collection.   well i have a horrible  horrible allergy to black mold.  and  this  playset  had  tons of black stuff on it.  i assumed it was  just dirt. but it looks  like  soot. or ash.  well i just spent  over an hour cleaning every nook adn cranny  of it. with qtips  vinegar  and baby wipes.

my question is this.. i think i got all the mold.. but one of the  stickers  i belive is warped and mildewed.  i'm planning ont aking it off. its a side sticker so thats fine,   but   should i do anyhting else  to it  or is it safe to  be put in my  bedroom now?  since it's been scrubbed  and vingiared.   i've neveer dealt with cleaning a playset like this before.  i've even gone over the  sides the  top  the  bottle even the  pin everything that didint have a sticker with soap and water.

but is it safe to  now put it in the  roomw it the rest of my pony collection? or is there an addtional cleaning step to take?  thanks a bunch!

It sounds like you have done a great job so far and you really only need to take it a step further if you are particularly worried. Unfortunately mould is often not visible so sometimes you are best to use an actual anti-mould product to ensure you have completely removed it.

This is a UK product - http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=075366 - I am not sure what the US equivalent will be but there will be something you can find in the cleaning/home care aisle of your local super market. Just make sure that it says on the instructions that is can be used on plastics [this is normally covered by mentioning something like bathroom/kitchen surfaces which are often plastic based]. Also check whether it is an ammonia or bleach based product. You can not use a bleach based mould cleaner if you have used an ammonia based soap already. So if you have used ammonia based soap make sure your cleaning product is also ammonia based and if you have used a non ammonia based soap then either a bleach or ammonia based mould cleaner is fine.

Also make sure to use a non ammonia based soap or detergent to wipe the cleansing product off the playset. Allow the set to dry naturally and only include it in your collection when completely dry. Also ensure you use any of these products in an open or well ventilated space.

thanks a lot hatorcat!  yeah  i went ahead and added it.   i will be taking off hte problem sticker  and it turns out thankfully that the black stuff was  just soot.  never hurts to  be through i didnt use anyhting with amonia  in it. becuase i was worried about  warping the plastic. i'll be taking pics soon.

Also there's a website that has images of the original stickers so you can print them out and adhere new ones...  you'd have to Google it though as I don't have the link handy.  Maybe somewhere here does?

I also heard, but i do not really know if its true..., but to kill mould you could also put it in the freezer. I do that with plushies to kill the dust-mites.
And i also really want to know wich site that is, with the stickers for playsets!

Oh lol sorry for some completely weird reason I thought this was about Dream Castle!

FarDreamer has a lot of sets on her website but not the Lullabye Nursery and unfortunately StarGleamers site doesnt have them either.

So no I don't know of anywhere which has LN replacement stickers just the other playsets.
