Looking for Sculpt Thing
« on: November 07, 2012, 10:42:43 AM »
Ok this is going to sound odd. I have not once sculpted, but I really want to make a pony for my hubby for Christmas. I am not able to do this with out him knowing....the sculpting part that is. So I was wondering if someone would sculpt a piece for me. I do not have pay pal, but I would be sending payment in the mail or trade for it. I have done this method with many members here:) I pay you before I get anything:)

Well my husband started as a home brewer and is now part owner ship of a microbrewery!!! So I am making him a beer pony. I would like a molded mug of beer. This pony is a Fakie but it is about the height of Parasol G1. I would like it about as tall as floor to nose...just a bit shorter. I can paint on my own if that will help out or you can paint it as well:) not sure what color of beer I want just yet:P

My other random question is there a way for someone to sculpt a beer mug onto a pony with out the pony being their...like glue it to the rump? I have never sculpted. I could also send the pony to have the sculpted part put on and pay for the shipping back to me.

Thanks for your help. My hubbie is so afraid of me and the oven....he has every right to be....I have burnt about 99% of things in the over.

Thank you for your help and any comments you might have for me to help:)

Making a free standing beer mug should be pretty simple. Do you have reference pictures of what kind of mug style you'd be interested in? Also would you be interested in fulling the mug with alternative material to make it look more liquid?

I know ang has used epoxie in water designs before... http://browse.deviantart.com/?q=My+little+pony+custom+bath#/d3m2i0k

As far as a mug cutie mark. I'd say you could add a pin style armature and then stick it into the pony and secure it. Or you could make a flat back and glue it. Having the actual pony to work on would make a tighter fit. Can we see pictures of the fakie?

You could also mod a doll mug from a Barbie/American girl set.
I'm not really on here anymore. Email me if you need my for something.

The liquid is very cool, but i think a full mug with frothy bubbles is what i am looking for....hmm pictures of the faki....i could not find a picture nor have one on my phone...but she looks like a G1 that is white with blue hair in a pose like G1 parasol.

I will try to get picks soon. I like the pin idea and the glue idea. I have no issues sending the pony if that is needed:)

As for beer mug the only picks i can find are online stores...i do not want to break any rules. But it would be a clear glass but you can see a stout color(dark color brown) in the glass with a foamy top.....

Once i am home i will take picks:p

K, you'll want to find an artist who is familiar with clear polymer clays. A jewelry maker is probably your best bet for a hand fashioned clear mug. Kati brand, maybe a liquid mix or clear fimo. It will probably be a bit more costly to have made than a normal clay piece.

A painted clay piece is an awesome option:) I think you read my mind with that statement:)
