Snow Crystal- My first custom!

Finally got around to doing my first custom! She was made from a g4 Rainbow Dash, the one from the favorites set. She was rehaired with embroidery floss in an ice blue, and a gradiented blue/white. The ends are sealed with Mod Podge to prevent fraying. She was hand painted in acryllics, and again, sealed with Mod Podge. I had to paint her symbol with a toothpick! She has a few individual pieces of glitter on her symbol, wings, and near her eye. Snow Crystal's bun is secured with three straightpins and some Mod Podge to hold the ends in place.

There were a few snags, however! Aren't there always? First off, her head and body are slightly mismatched, but that's typical with g4s. Then, her head came off pretty easy, but I couldn't get the plug back in her head! So I cut it off and superglued her head back on. I glued it this afternoon and I'm not too sure that it's gonna hold, so I might have to re-glue it tomorrow. Then when I was trying to do her hair the pin went staight through her head once and stabbed my finger  >_< But I leared a lot, and I hope to improve!

Huh, never would have thought of embroidery floss to use as well as normal yarn and doll hair. Great job!

Very nice, I really love all the different shades of blue that you used. I also like her eyes.

Oh I forgot to ask about the pins in the hair do you just poke them through the head or are they glued? How does it work?

Thanks, everyone! I can't wait to do my second custom!

Collectingmylittlepony- The pins just go through the hair and stick into her head. The only glue I had to use was to keep the ends in place. Oh, and since g4s have smaller heads, you have to trim the pins down a bit, otherwise they come out the other side.
