Printable Clip-on Hair Extensions for Ponies (Barbies)
« on: October 27, 2012, 07:59:48 AM »
Hay we found Barbie Designable Hair Extensions UPC 7 46775 11494 7  on clearance at Walmart for $5 (comes with 4 sheets)

My girl just made her first set and I realized that they don't HAVE to go with Barbie, they could go on Ponies too.    Though I looks like the ink is slow to dry,... and you don't want ink on your ponies.. so we are going to be PAINfully patient before we do anything with it.  unless there's someone in the audience thinks we shouldn't even consider this.

We'll update you on how long it took to dry.

Getting excited about other ideas... Cutie Mark Hair Designs!! here we come!

I am curious to see the end result on this! I would not put the extensions on a nice pony to start, start out with a bait or not so good condition pony until you are certain the ink is safe :)

oh!  Let me clarify.  "Extensions" = Fake Hair on a Clip.  Sorry for any confusion.

Oh cute! I have seen these before but never thought about them being used on ponies - they could be lovely! I agree with OL1 as long as you don't risk it on a minty pony in case the printer ink rubs off on the hair or body you should be fine.

Can't wait to see pictures!

I wonder if they can be used with concentrated rit dye and a paintbrush instead of printer ink since rit can be made colorfast.

Thats an interesting idea - no doubt it would take some experimenting to get the right level of dye without it being too concentrated that the paper is unable to hold all the dye - its not as though you could rinse it unfortunately.

Edit for spelling fail *sigh at self*

See that she put her name on the design she printed.   The hair is actual polyester doll-type hair!    My wife did a Fluttershy cutie mark one! i'll post later.

We need to see if we can curl the extensions.  They are sort of stiff flat, aren't they?

They really are "hair" but the strands start off stuck together, you have to pull them apart a little. The ink just prints directly on them, through your ink jet printer.

sorta, if you separated all of the strands.  I think to make them
print well they put a mild adhesive on them.
