Have You Noticed More Stores Selling MLP, Even Some That Never Sold It?

I've noticed stores like FYE and other stores that have blind bags now and they never used to before.  I'm thinking it's more of a brony thing and they're trying to appeal to the bronies to get more customers.  Nothing wrong with that but I just think it's interesting how all of a sudden, because FIM has been out for a little while.

Ya I have seen that also. My mom said she sees pony stuff alot more then normal

That could be one of the reasons.  Could it maybe be the holiday season rolling in? I remember some stores that would never carry toys, suddenly have a small section of Toys and after the holiday season, most of them are gone and never restocked.

MLP blew up with G4 this year like pokemon or any other pop culture phenomenon, I don't see it as brony pandering as much as it is pop culture recognition.

We can't be the only pony fans buying these  . I can't wait for the day where people realize the show is for anybody.

I remember last Christmas Safeway was selling a bunch of singles and their toy aisle is freaking tiny!

I wish the ponies would never stop. I hope Hasbro does not stop making them like they did with the G1 and then G2's. There there was nothing for a very long time

This. The stores I've been seeing ponies suddenly appear where they never were before (Hot Topic, FYE, Newbury Comics) are all stores that sell pop culture, whatever is 'in' right now. They're just going wherever the money is coming from.

My favorite pony shirts are those that are G1 style.  I've seen lots of brony centered shirts at FYE and Hot Topic, etc but they all feature rainbow dash.  Hot Topic had a light hooded sweatshirt with a group photo of all the ponies.  I think stuff like this will help keep MLP alive.

I have not seen one blind bag pony at any store. I keep looking and wondering. I have actually noticed the opposite in my area. No ponies anywhere!!
ETA: I am thinking either ponies are not popular in my area or they are so popular people keep buying them up... ??

Well, the only one stores I see carrying MLP now that wasn't carrying MLP before over here is Aeon/Jusco.

Yes apparently ponies are now "cool"

They now sell ponies in Forbidden Planet in the UK...for me this was a "huh? what? really?" moment when I first spotted them. During G3, ponies would not have been permitted in the door let alone shelf space at a Forbidden Planet.

Personally I agree part of it is the pop culture thing and a lot of retailers will buy into what is hot at the time but I do think large parts of owe to being available in the stores which bronies may frequent.. Stereotypical judgement it may be but if people are honest the age, sex and demographic of many people who are bronies are more likely to visit comic book shops than Toys R Us therefore it makes sense that these stores start to stock what their customers may be interested in.
