another non selling seller! and bizarre responses
« on: October 02, 2012, 10:04:58 AM »
     ok i have run into another issue here.   this is non pony but a lisa frank purchase on ebay and im ticked cause once again the seller has "lost" the items. i think there is someone shady on ebay doing offers or something on ended auctions.   but anyhow i would block this seller if you guys collect:

sunndae_doug

i paid for items, then randomly a few days later i got refund (no asking, or anything just refunded my purchase)  and i look on ebay and i have a message from the seller that says this:

"hello i have refunded your items as i can not find them anywhere! i looked all over, sorry"

so i sent them a message back saying i was unhappy that they went ahead and refunded my money without even talking to me first.    then NOTHING for over a week, so i left them a neutral and i left very unbiased detail in my oppinion.

then i get this in my message inbox:

"Dear baby_licketysplit,

Hello your comment was not necessary!!!! Pay pal notified me that some other than the account holder used the account I was paid w took the money & told me not to send the item. This is pay pals fault not mine. U may want to contact them so this does not happen in the future! Thanks anyway sunndae.

- sunndae_doug"

what the!?    dude he already told me HE lost the items, and now is claiming my paypal is a stolen account?     :|   im so MAD!   my paypal account is Just fine! and how dare he insinuate that its stolen.   thats a huge accusation.  -_-

I can't help but wonder if there's something in the water lately.  There's been an awful lot of these crazy Ebay stories recently.

I'm sorry about this.  I'd be pissed.

Umm, how does one sell items that they do not know the location of to start with?  My brain's a bit foggy about that.

Comments like this worry me. Sellers tend to be actual people, and people sometimes can lose sale items. It's as simple as that. I've had it happen, and it's absolutely nauseating because sometimes buyers aren't understanding. This comment has nothing to do with the OP's post, just a general wanting to say -- it happens.

Hence the disclaimer of foggy brain.  I was NOT attacking anyone, buyer or seller.

So true, it's almost scary.

I am so sorry you had to go through this.  Although I understand items can go misplaced I smell something fishy.  Why make-up two different stories?

Yeah, and if for some reason the second story is true (which sounds highly unlikely), I would contact Paypal just in case.

So so weird. Sorry that you didn't get your item. eBay is starting to scare me...

Wow, jeez. I'm sorry but that story makes ZERO sense. I never knew that there was such a large problem of non-selling sellers until I started regularly coming on this forum.

I mean, no matter what the truth is, it means she lied one way or another. Why would she lie?

Plus, how can she tell YOU that your account was hacked? I'm confused as to what she meant by that last weird comment.

And I just want to say, that if you really do lose an item that was up for auction you shouldn't just refund the money and disappear. You can offer another comparable item or at least keep the conversation going so that you don't look flaky. Or tell the customer that when you find it you will get right back to them.

It's the least you can do.

This! i can't believe how many weird people seems to pop up on ebay lately.

Losing an item is possible, yes, but that paypal story is just ridiculous!

I'm sorry you had another disappointing transaction (lack thereof) right after the last one, babylicketysplit.

Well to be fair, I've had two transactions where Paypal told me something fishy was going on and told me not to send the item. One was weird, the name on the Paypal account didn't match the Ebay's account. Plus, the name wasn't a real name (it was random letters/numbers or something like that). I called Paypal and they told me not to send the item cause there was something not right.

Another one was when the paypal wouldn't clear (not a e-check, it just wouldn't clear). I kept calling and they kept telling me not to send the item until something had been verified. I finally told the buyer I had to cancel the transaction as I had no idea what was going on on their end.

However, if this had been the case, the seller should have said so. I doubt it is, but as was mentioned, maybe call Paypal and make sure. Tell them exactly what this seller told you. I'm sure it's nothing and she's probably just fibbing. I'm not even entirely sure what she was trying to say in the last message anyways.

Yikes! Even if they had lost the item, just sending you a message to clarify would have helped instead of just refunding the money with no explanation until after the fact.

Although the Paypal thing seems odd (after claiming s/he lost the items) maybe call Paypal just to see if it was a legitimate concern? Could be as simple as a spelling error throwing things off.

That does sound weird - I mean the two different stories from the seller  Either they lost the item, or paypal sent them a message telling them something was up, but surely both stories cant be true.  Calling Paypal to double check sounds like a good idea to me
