I think it's possible.  I have problems with artificial smells, so some scented G3's bother me.

I live in Utah as well, and something in the air has aggravated my allergies horribly this year.  We've had odd weather the past two years, with the late thaw and flooding last year and the very dry weather (not to mention wildfires) this year.  It is possible that we have an odd surge of particularly obnoxious weeds due to the weather.  I am more suspicious of environmental issues than of your ponies . 

Some weather websites post allergen reports.  You might see if local pollen counts are high on days your allergies flare up before going to a lot of effort bathing your collection.

Allergies are HORRIBLE this year!!!!!  I have never had so many issues and I also have asthma!!  Been using my inhailor like crazy this summer to    Could be alot of things and not just the ponies!

Many of my friends up and down the East Coast including me have had really bad allergies for going on two months. Some of them don't even have allergies that they know of, but something is causing it to happen...One of my doctor friends said it could be caused from mold spores because of the large amounts of heavy rain we've had. Other people on my facebook have suggested rag weed. But the thing about allergies is that they can form without previous problems. There is a chance if you haven't washed your ponies before that they have something on them...but the worse possibility is that there are mold spores somewhere near you or even in your house. You should check your ceiling for spots of water leakage and change your vents, just in case. *hugs* Good luck with yours. Allergies are so annoying and can make you feel 89% sick at the worst of times.

I think a soak/scrub will take care of any nasties that might be hiding in your ponies.

thanks everypony, for the ideas and advice.  we have had wildfires too so maybe that's what it is.

just wanted to rule out my favorite thing... Ponies!
