First rehair and custom G1 ponywear

I recently got a Barnacle who was in need of a rehair, I've only ever made perfume puffs so it was a little daunting to use actual hair but I needed to do this lol.

His first hairstyle I was unhappy with, it was so limp and boring.

I gave him curls that hang over his shoulder, that's why they look so short.
I hand stitched his pirate hat, made of brown suede with a red leather feather (it's cuter in person, the photos were rushed)
That is his original tail restored, I didn't want to replace it.

Even with his faded symbols I love him to bits, he's extra special because I promised myself 'no more G1 ponies'... because I will just keep discovering that I now love this pony (and this pony, and this pony and THIS pony!) and have to have it. For the sake of my bank account I said Barnacle was my last G1, even though I want them all lol.
BTW, am I right in assuming that the staining along his mane and around his tail was made by his old hair? I checked inside and he's clean as a whistle, no rust.

AND pictures of some of the pony wear I've made (not including a few bandanas and an adapted G3 dress, because they're nothing fancy) in this other spoiler so this doesn't become too pic heavy.

Tex got a leather bandana and a suede and leather saddle pack that opens to reveal... a leather cord whip! (I know, so silly :P)

The Bridal pony has a veil, a beaded necklace, and a bouquet made of a painted button. Other purple buttons were used as accessories as well.

Hope you think it's all cute! I've learnt a lot from my first rehair, namely that I'm impatient and if I want it done good I have to put in the time and patience lol... if I do more rehairs I'm making a proper tool!  :P

Barnacle is fantastic!! Cudos to you - you've done really well!

And hey! Don't underestimate the pony wear you've made - Tex looks like a right cow-pony now!  :D
