Introducing: Lupinia (Luna) Wolfbane
« on: November 13, 2012, 10:59:16 AM »
So I finally finished rehairing my CAM wolf, and I wanted to introduce y'all to her!  She has WAY too much hair, do to me not finding much research on how to really reroot a CAM head...and overguessing a lot.  xD  But she looks good and I love her.  I want to do more though!  So many more...

OH gosh soooo pretty!! *v*

I'm currently also rehairing my CAM wolves.. one in reddish-pink and one in white like yours! °v°
And I also plan to make them rock-chicks, as a doggy-counterpart Meowlody&Purrsephone.. :D
So I'm super hyped to finish them now by seeing your girl... they could be distant cousins. Haha.. xD

(mine have flocked undercuts like Venus', tho.. so still a bit different from yours. ;> ..if you don't mind me asking, tho: What line of dolls is that little leather-jacket from? ..I already bought 2 Bratz-ones for my wolves.. but they don't have that little zipper yours has. SO CUTE!!)

She's really good for the first attempt. Making plugs too thick seems to be a theme. I did my firs couple a tad too thick, some too thin. It takes awhile to get a real feel for what size plugs and how many.

That said, I really like the white ^_^ I haven't found a color I dislike for her yet.

Thank you everyone!  I really love her, lol.  Thanks Ravie, that means a lot coming from you, especially since I covet so many of the dolls you rehair, =P

Yeah, the plugs were too big for sure, but I learned a lot...I certainly will be doing smaller plugs next time, so hopefully it'll come out pretty well.  =]  I'm running out of soft heads to do though, so I might have to just try to see if the hard caps can be rerooted in a similar fashion.  I think I can do it (will try at least) and go from there.

It's definitely a learning experience, but I really enjoy it.

Another thing I meant to comment on is your hairline. Too many times I see really bad hairlines >.> but yours is great. *obesses over her hairlines when drawing them*

Thank you!  I do that too, LOL!  I hate it if they are uneven, so I am so paranoid about getting them right.  I made sure to check it several different ways to be positive that it was just so.  =]  I had trouble getting her ears to stay down though and there was a bit of trouble trying to root around them...

They dont stay flush. In terms of ears i draw circles/ovals around them and put them aside.

Nice job, Tex! She is totally fierce. And, really, can you have too much hair???
I think she's fabulous!

Hehe thank you!  I guess you can't really have too much hair, and it fits her personality quite nicely, honestly.  =]  I know I didn't paint her face or do anything super special on her, just the hair, but I love that she looks so fierce and like she means business, but a fragile side as well.  Will have to get that all worked up so I can share her story with y'all!

Whoops, forgot to add that I don't know where the jacket came from..I'm guessing Bratz (it came to me in a big bag of clothes, yay!)  It is a bit messed up on the side...the plastic is coming up off of the fabric. If that makes any sense, LOL!

ETA:  Just because I can.  *cough*

And Clawd was escorting Ghoulia to the club...she was too scared to go alone and Lala was already there, so she didn't mind.

Ugh.. yes I know exactly what you mean. I had that issue with the paw-pads on some vintage 'My-Puppy-Loves-Me's. I eventually fixed it with 'liquid leather'. I don't know how you correctly call that in english and if it would work on a doll-jacket, tho.. :<
However, you don't notice it in the pictures, she looks awesome in it!
