From left to right.

Wave 2 - Wave 4 - Pony Rainbow Collection

Wave 2 is orangeish yellow, wave 4 is yellow and prbc is orange.

Wave 2 is orangeish yellow, wave 4 is bright yellow and prbc is very similar to wave 4 but a little darker.

Wave 1 is light pink, wave 4 and prbc is dark pink.

Wave 2 is almost completely transparent, wave 4 and prbc is more white.

Wave 1 (pink) is light pink, wave 1 (purple) is deep purple, wave 4 and prbc is lighter/brighter purple than wave 1.

Hm, thanks for the pics. Look like I'm still missing an AJ variant and of course pink Twilight, but I'm not too bothered about tracking it down.

It's interesting because I had a wave 1 purple sparkle twilight and a wave 4 one and the rainbow pack one, and mine all looked completely identical, no color difference at all.

I had starting noticing the differences, and once the rainbow pack came out-- I was like.... whoops, forget collecting the variants-- too many. This is a great reference! Thanks for taking the pictures.

Yup, this was knid of my thought too. The ones that are a BIG difference I will collect - so I have one dark yellow fluttershy and one light, one orange AJ and one yellow, etc, but the minor variants like "slightly more orange" are too much to keep on top of.

NoDivision: On some of them you have to look closely to see the difference. Did you do that?

Yeah, I held them in all sorts of lighting, let the light shine through them, etc. I'm a pretty good judge of color difference, even really subtle ones. Maybe I got flukes or there were some that just happened to be repackages from wave 1, I dunno. The Wave 1 I got in store, the wave 4 came from ebay in a lot so it's possible it was actually a wave 1 that was mis identified but the rainbow pack I got in store too, and it was identical to the one already on my shelf.

I have seen others that are different, comparing my twilights to friends etc, but mine have been the same colors. Sadly I don't have them all anymore or I'd like a picture, but I compared them all as I got them.

Great comparisons! Thanks! Is it me, or do the head positions on the walking pose (not leg lifted, just one foot forward--PPie and TS to be precise) ponies have slight variations from one to another, such as, looking almost forward (older) to being turned toward the observer (newest)?

Those are great comparison pictures.

I agree with you NoD - with such a terrifying number of these being produced the odds are good over time there is going to be some minor differences in colour and finish. Keeping up with such a variety is too much for me too!
