DeviantART help?

Ok, after years and years of debating it, I finally took the plunge and started my own DeviantART page.  I know several of the Arena members have them, so I'm hoping that someone can help me with this silly-sounding question.

How do you open a picture into its own window with its own url?  I know how to open each picture onto its page, but I'm trying to post a couple of pictures into a forum (not here yet; I was told before that the Arena only supports Photobucket pics, but don't know if that's true?  I could have sworn that I've seen people post DeviantART pics here before.  Any insight on this would be great, too ), but can't figure out how to get it to just the picture.  I hope that makes sense.  I know pretty much nothing about computers and how to make them do what I want :/

Anyway, any help from more experienced DA members would be greatly, greatly appreciated!

Actually.... have you tried right clicking and copying image location and using that code instead of the direct url?

I think I didn't understand what you were asking.  So ignore my advice.  I thought you were trying to post a DA image to a forum like this one.

You aren't allowed to hotlink images from deviantart... deviantart is not a hosting site, but rather a site to share your images. They want you to view the images on their site so that you see the advertising. If there is some reason you do need to know the URL of the image, you can probably right click the image and open image in a new tab or window. (I use a mac, with chrome-- but I assume windows and another browse would be the same).

If you want to share with others via a URL, you need to use an image hosting site. Photobucket is the most popular, but you can use any image hosting site. (I personally use my own site, site I have one).

There is a quick link box in the corner of the images page.
It's a short URL that leads to the pictures page in your gallery.

That's the best you can do here since the Arena doesnt allowed hot linking as Bandit has said

You can see any image on a website by right clicking and selecting "view image".

It's not that the arena doesn't allow hotlinking. The arena wouldn't know what images people are linking to and if they have permission to link to it. It IS however a very bad practice to link to images without permission, and the arena does frown upon it.

If you simply need the URL of any pic, either view properties after right-clicking or, if using Chrome, right click and copy the image URL.  That said, it's advisable not to hotlink images from DA, not only because it's against policies and just isn't kosher, but also because some people have trouble viewing the images (many URLs that are directly plugged in come up broken.)
