First attempt
« on: August 24, 2012, 08:31:56 PM »
So the back story behind this, is i bought my girls some blank ponies and got my hubby one too, and we painted them with washable paint, (so we can wash them and repaint them)...so here is what we got...

My 4 year old's. She called her "color pony"

My 3 year old's. Didn't really give her a name...

Nothing like young customizers in the making... :)  You said that the pony you did was your first go that you didn't want to "mess up" with acrylics?  Is that you looking for advice or encouragement for making future customs?  I think that when you are ready to take the plunge into "real" customs (out of lack of a better way to distinguish permanency of paint jobs ;)), you'll find that acrylics are much easier to paint with than washables.  They tend to dry faster, coat better and are easier to touch up.  Either way, I think it's an awesome idea to have a family bonding time over making re-paintable ponies :)

I love that you did them with your children, I will have to do this with Ruby when she's older :D
