Customizing Questions
« on: August 13, 2012, 12:27:40 PM »
I thought for sure that I'd run into everything that I'd have questions about customizing, but there's no end to the learning...
So I have two questions:
1.    Can I bake a pony in the oven with the original paint on it, like the eyes and symbol, or do I have to acetone it off first? I'm out of acetone but I want to start on this pony now... :(

2.    How do I get the sparkles off of the bait on its cutie mark and forehead? They're glued down hardcore, and I've tried getting them off with Goo Gone and acetone and nail polish remover and all three combined and... not budging.

Glitter I'm not sure about, but the original paint seems to do just fine in the oven. I've baked a few ponies with original paint and the oven didn't seem to make any difference in it.

Glitter.. If soaking in acetone or goof off don't work, then lightly scraping with a fresh xacto blade. Or hard scraping with your fingernails. The one glitter one that I cleaned up, I think I recall having to resort to the xacto blade scraper.

Okay cool, thanks :) Do you think I can put a very thin layer of sculpey over it? I might try that before resorting to hardcore scraping.

I think that if you are going to consider putting sculpey over it, you may as well try the scraping first. If the scraping goes bad, you can just put the sculpey over it anyway. :)
